Izame Zabantu Nature Helpers was a guest speaker on Cape Talk radio station to discuss Izame’s initiative and its triple win formula: 1. plastic out the ocean, 2. people who are living in poverty earn a wage and put food on the table, and 3. donors receive money back from SARS for helping make Izame’s initiative possible. Since the inception of Izame in 2020, the team has removed almost 20 000 bags of plastic waste from the Black River mouth and Paarden Eiland beach in Cape Town.
